Himalayan salt is hygroscopic,  it attracts water molecules from the air. It is believed that when the salt is heated by the candle, it releases negative ions that may neutralize pollutants and allergens in the air, contributing to improved air quality. The warm light emitted is often considered beneficial for relaxation and stress reduction. A tea light or small votive candle will fit nicely inside.
